So what are your gaming goals that a BSG game would support? It seems as though once you've done 'let's take a Base ship against a Battlestar' that has sort of exhaused the options.

Well, first off, I'm probably more interested in a BSG supplement for Squadron Strike, or some other system that would allow me to mix and match. Like I said, I don't get historicals either; licenses are in some ways worse, because at least Napoleon doesn't have creative control over fiction you write using his campaigns.

Another option would be to go the route B5Wars did. There aren't that many ships that actually appear on camera, so the game creators made a bunch of new (and old) ships up. That allows you to take a Cylon Base Ship 1.2.6.5 up against the satellite defense system around Caprica, or a Reinforced Resurection Ship up against a Gemenon-class Strikestar. For part of the customer base, that works fine; a nod to the background is enough to make it fun.

It occurs to me that Chameleon Eclectic did go the first route with their B5 starship combat system, which was basically an add-on to Full Thrust. Might help to have prior art to reference when talking to MWP.

Let's not forget that the game could have rules allowing for players to replay the original cylon wars of 40 years before the new series. Since those wars went on for a while and ended in an armistice I'd assume that there was a near parity state existing at the time, making for better gaming.

We could have rules for the dreaded cylon computer viruses, centurions boarding ships to vent the air and take control of the guns, etc.

Sounds like fun to me.

So the draw comes down to filling out fleet lists / the First Cylon War / BSG vs. Other Settings / liking the show makes people want to play the setting.

Probably with emphasis on the last one.
I guess I can see that. Looks like there'll be an order of magnitude more creating out of whole cloth than there was for B5, though (and there was a lot for B5).

There's been a lot for SITS as well, to be honest. And still more for SFB.

And there was plenty for Star Blazers Fleet Battles.

Star Blazers fleet battles?! Could you tell me a little more about it, please?

Speaking of starblazers and B5, that whole series "B5 Crusade" was essentially nothing but the sirst season of starblazers with a very thin coat of paint.

Not that that's an attack on B5 crusade, I liked the show and wish it has gone on. The Galen character was so worth it.
