Something that I've wondered about for a while:

Most AV:T ships have several weeks endurance in close solar orbits because that is where the Rabbit Hole is ... so they must have very good ways to keep the crew from being fried by the thermal radiation, solar wind, and the occasional solar flare. In spite of this, they can be damaged or destroyed by Nuclear weapons at quite long ranges.

If combat happens near the Rabbit Hole, I can understand that the nuke overloads a system otherwise able to cope with the environment, but I'm not sure I see why the same is true significantly farther from the local star.

On a related note, what is the worst thermal & radiation environments normally encountered by a Ten-worlds ship? And how bad is that? My guess is the area near the Damso Rabbit Hole, but I'm not sure.

We very carefully don't state EXACTLY how close the rabbit hole is to the star for exactly this reason.
